Why can you guys get so little hp from big engines

Can I start by saying I think the MT900s is a great car. However you went and but an american v8 engine into it! Why woudl you do this to your car? it only develops 475hp from 5.7 litres. What that all about!!?? European manufacturers would get at least 570hp from the engine without turbo charging or supercharging.

HOW COME AMERICANS CAN ONLY GET 60 OR 70 HP PER LITRE FROM AN ENGINE?? LOOL AT FERRARI, LAMBOPRGHINI, MERCEDES BENZ, BMW, AUDI - THEY CAN GET FAR MORE POWER FROM A NORMALLY ASPIRATED ENGINE. WHY IS THIS? CAN US ENGINEERS NOT BUILKD GOOD ENGINES?? Come on guys - 100hp per litre for god sake!
